Hermann Fritz will join other top teachers at Georgia Tech this fall in a program to further build their skills and try new approaches in the classroom.

The Hesburgh Award Teaching Fellows are mid-career and senior faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and expressed interest in enhancing student learning. Fritz and the other fellows will gather throughout the fall to develop new skills and share best practices. They’ll also each work on a teaching and learning project for one of their courses.

“I am interested in learning more about all aspects of teaching, in particular increasing student engagement, innovation and motivation,” Fritz said. “It is a great honor to join the fall 2018 Hesburgh Teaching Fellows.”

Fritz was nominated by the School’s leaders for his skills in teaching and demonstrating a commitment to student success. Georgia Tech’s Center for Teaching and Learning offers the Hesburgh fellows program each year to recognize great teachers and help them bolster learning in their own classes and in their home departments more broadly.

“I look forward to participating, learning from my colleagues, and working on initiatives that further enhance student learning,” Fritz said.
