In Memoriam: Laura Bunte Tucker

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology is deeply Richard and Laurie Tucker at the annual CEE Alumni Weekend in Washington, DC.saddened by the loss of Laurie Bunte Tucker, wife of alumnus and friend Richard C. Tucker, chairman of the School's External Advisory Board.  The announcement below was prepared by the Tucker family and published by the Washington Post.
 

On Tuesday, August 23, 2011 of ALS. She was a resident of Rockville since 1977. Beloved wife of Richard Clement Tucker, Sr.; loving mother of Richard Clement Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Gillian of Kansas City, MO, Rachel Tucker Wormald and her husband, Kenneth of Gaithersburg, MD and Louis Bunte Tucker and his wife, Jane Anne of McLean, VA. Laurie is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, her mother, Rachel Jackson Bunte of Atlanta, GA and her siblings, Margaret Bunte Carriere and Louis Edward Bunte, both of Atlanta. Friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Montgomery Avenue (Rte. 28, exit 6-A just off I-270), Rockville, MD on Friday, September 9 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 5500 River Road, Bethesda, MD 20816 on Saturday, September 10 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Laurie Tucker Memorial Fund of the Fourth Presbyterian Church at the above address or to Community Bible Study, 790 Stout Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80921-3082.
