Karen and John Huff School Chair Reginald DesRoches, Ph.D. recently hosted a CEE student “Meet the Chair” event in Clough Commons when he had the opportunity to meet with over 125 undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE).
Dr. DesRoches presented an overview of the School of CEE and, together with Donald Webster, Ph.D. and associate chair of graduate programs and Jaehong Kim, Ph.D. and associate chair of undergraduate programs, answered questions and addressed the concerns of those present in the formal meeting. Pizza and refreshments afterward provided additional opportunity for the chair and associate chairs to hear what was on the minds of the graduate and undergraduate students of CEE.
Dr. DesRoches sends the following message to all of the attendees:
Dear Students of CEE,
I enjoyed the opportunity to update you on the status of the school, and the future plans for CEE. I look forward to getting your feedback on the strategic plan and potential changes in our curriculum and programs. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to learn about our great school and share some of your thoughts and ideas of how to make it even better.
As a reminder, please mark your calendars to stop by the Homecoming CEE Tailgating party on October 27th which is widely attended by our alumni. Also mark your calendar for November 7th at 5:00 pm when we have rented out the Tech Rec Center for a couple of hours just for CEE! Watch for further details to sign up and spend a couple of hours bowling, playing games and eating pizza with your fellow students and the faculty of CEE.
For those of you that could not make it out to the event, below is a copy of my presentation.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
Go Jackets!
