Several members of the Georgia Tech Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) went out of their way to prove that they are dedicated to making a difference in the world -- while they are still tethered ot their studies.
On Feb. 1 and 2, the students volunteered their time, muscles, and engineering expertise to construct a new playscape for a local Atlanta neighborhood. Working with the Springdale Park Playground Committee, they put in 15 hours of work to construct a towering castle-like structure on the Euclid Avenue playground.
Coordinating the effort for ASCE was Dimelina Mora, a senior in the civil engineering program. Joining her were fellow engineering students Kyle Manweiler, Eric Lucner, Jaime Clarck, Alexa Francisco, and Justin Stutts.
