Dr. Don Webster has officially been tapped to serve as CEE’s new associate chair for finance and administration, effective June 30.
Webster was named to the position on June 7 by Karen and John Huff School Chair Dr. Reginald DesRoches.
“I have no doubt that his extensive experience and organization skills will help continue the excellence we have in our programs,” DesRoches said. “He has shown those same qualities throughout his tenure at Georgia Tech, including the past year, when he served as associate chair for graduate programs in CEE.”
Webster takes the reins from Professor Glenn Rix, an expert in seismic hazards and a 24-year veteran of Georgia Tech, who has recently accepted a position at Geosyntec Consultants as a principal.
Previously, Webster served as the associate chair for undergraduate programs (2009-2012), and he currently serves as the group leader for environmental fluid mechanics and water resources. He has also been a member of the Statutory Advisory Committee, has served on both the undergraduate and graduate committees, and has served on the Academic Senate and General Faculty Assembly.
