Are some commuters more likely to use transit (or even driver-less cars someday in the future) because they can use their travel time to simultaneously get other things done?
Professor Patricia Mokhtarian, Ph.D. student Alex Malokin and Research Engineer Giovanni Circella have been studying how much the opportunity to multitask influences the way commuters choose to travel. Mokhtarian recapped the research and its findings this week at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington.
