Karthik Ramanathan, a graduate student in Dr. Reginald DesRoche's Natural Hazards Mitigation research group, was awarded the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning's (CETL) Thank a Teacher 
award. The CETL Thank a Teacher program began in November 2005 to provide students with an opportunity to give feedback to outstanding teachers, advisers, TA's, and mentors.
Karthik was honored by the CELT program and the Georgia Tech Ambassadors at the Institute's Celebrating Teaching Day and Dean Griffin Day. By encouraging students to recognize the individuals who are making a difference in their education, CETL hopes to continue to strengthen the learning environment at Georgia Tech and provide instructional staff with the kudos they deserve.
In 2006, Karthik earned a BS at Osmania University. In 2008, he earned an MS from University of Pittsburgh and an MS from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011. Karthik is co-advised by Dr. J. Padgett of Rice University.
